The New Alternative Solid Conservatory Roofing System, The Artisan Garden Room

It is now possible to install a solid insulated roof on your existing conservatory.

Artisan can now offer an exceptionally energy efficient alternative solid conservatory roof to polycarbonate or glass, capable of turning your exsisting conservatory into a garden living room using the alternative conservatory roofing system.

This highly insulated solid roof is incredibly energy efficient because it keeps heat in when it's cold outside, and keeps it out in the summer months. It has a 'u value' of just .16 and if you like your current 'window to the stars', we can also install roof lights, with no great detriment to its energy efficiency.

One of the great advantages of the Artisan solid conservatory roof system is that it can, in most cases, be installed on existing conservatories.

Artisan have fitted six of these solid conservatory roofs in the 3 months. Each one was put on an existing conservatory.

In two cases we changed the sides of the conservatories as well as the roof, this was mainly because our clients wanted to take advantage of the highly heat efficient 'A' rated frames that we now install as standard. Both conservatories had been installed by Artisan over 10 years ago. The first we originally built 12 years ago in Rhosmore near Mold, Flintshire, while the second was in Cilcain, near Mold and originally erected over 16 years ago.

The third conservatory, in Prion in Denbighshire, was just four years old, so we were able to keep the current glazing system and simply add a new, solid and heat efficient roof.

The conservatory below was installed in Prion, Denbigh by Artisan 4 years ago and the frames and glass were of a much higher u value. It was felt that the benefit of changing the frames and glass wouldn't warrant the extra cost.
