Denbigh beer festival set to showcase North Wales' finest beers
Artisan-sponsored Denbigh Beer Festival promises an even more dizzying array of local beers and ciders than ever.
This year's Denbigh Beer Festival promises an even more dizzying array of local beers and ciders than ever, with award winning brews from Great Orme Brewery, Bragdy Conwy and Purple Moose among others.
Having raised a record breaking £7,000 last year, organisers Denbigh and District Round Table hope that the focus on local breweries will make the September 15 charity event the best attended yet.
Artisan Windows, Doors & Conservatories are once again the main sponsor of the festival, which this year will raise funds for Hope House and a local Parkinson's Disease charity.
Ian Gibson of Artisan Windows, Doors & Conservatories said: "The Round Table works incredibly hard to make each beer festival better than the next. The focus on real ales and ciders from North Wales breweries and local charities makes this a great community event that just gets better each year."
Once the doors of Denbigh Town Hall open at midday on September 15, beer lovers will be faced with the enviable choice of 30 firkins of real ale and Welsh ciders. There will be music throughout the day from North Wales bands including Gwubdaith Hen Fran.
Last year's event saw around 450 real ale and cider lovers turn up throughout the day, with all proceeds going to local charities including St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph.
This year's chosen charities includeHope House/ Ty Gobaith, which has centres in Conwy and Oswestry and Parkinson's UK.
Hope House hospices cost more than £4 million a year to run with the majority of that coming from donations. The charity currently cares for more than 320 terminally ill children and their families.
Parkinsons UK funds research into finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease and improving the lives of those affected by the illness, with local branches across North Wales and the North West.
Denbigh Beer Festival starts at noon on September 15, bands will play throughout the day and the beer taps close at 10.30pm. A £5 entry fee is payable on the door, which includes a commemorative glass. Beer tokens for real ales are also purchased on the day.
