Around 1,500 people jumbed onboard the Route 76 real ale festival buses this year - a bumper turnout that was 25 per cent higher than last year.

With bands, barbecues and of course the all-important 60 real ales on offer in 10 pubs, a summer party atmosphere swept across the Vale for the day on July 7, regardless of the gloomy skies above.

Colin Garner, landlords of the Golden Lion Llangynhafal said: "The atmosphere this year was, once again, excellent. We were amazed by the turnout, especially considering how bad the weather had been in the run up to the day.

"I have to thank our sponsors Artisan Windows, Doors & Conservatories and Ultimate Window Tinting for the work they have put into making this year's event such a success."

Ian Gibson of Artisan Windows, Doors & Conservatories said: "The publicans in all 10 pubs pulled out all the stops this year. They deserve its success and we were very proud to sponsor this fantastic event."
