More Garden Rooms & Lanterns from Artisan
Artisan offers two distinct roof lantern systems, the S1 and S2, each designed to provide high performance glazing solutions for extensions and orangeries.
The S1 is marketed as a highly secure and thermally efficient lantern with an "ultra-low line" aesthetic.
Design & Aesthetics: It features slim, consistent 50mm sightlines for rafters, hips, and ridges to maximize natural light. The external top caps sit only 8mm above the glass for a sleek profile.
Security: It includes anti-tamper security screws and a patent-pending glass lock. An optional Secured by Design (SBD) upgrade is available, which uses stainless steel clamping plates to prevent the glass from being lifted or removed.
Thermal Performance: The system uses "Thermlock" multi-chamber technology in the eaves, ridge, and rafters, which is designed to be more efficient than traditional polyamide. It also features co-extruded perimeter seals to prevent draughts.

The S2 is a versatile system engineered for larger spans and modern glazed extensions.
Versatility: It can accommodate various roof styles and combinations, including larger "grand designs".
Construction: It comes standard with chambered PVC-U cappings for thermal performance, with an optional aluminium capping upgrade for a high-end finish. It also features a "bolster" option to allow for large openings, such as those above bi-fold or patio doors.
Modern Aesthetics: The S2 uses square internal and external cladding for an uncluttered look. The ridge system is low-profile by default but can be upgraded with traditional crestings and finials if desired.
Performance: It is fully thermally broken and designed to prevent glass slippage through specialized glazing security plates.
Sheervent®: Both systems can incorporate this flush-mounted, intelligent ventilation solution. It sits perfectly level with the rafter bars and can be automated with rain sensors and remote controls.
Glass Options: A wide range of high-performance 28mm glazing is available, including self-cleaning glass and various tints (Blue, Aqua, Bronze, etc.) with U-values as low as 0.7 in triple-glazed configurations.
Colours: Lanterns are available in standard colors like Anthracite Grey, Jet Black, and Agate Grey, or they can be customized to any RAL colour in various finishes (matt, satin, or gloss).
